Albert my beagle/corgi /dachshund mix, is a crazy little thing but he is so adorable. It is amazing how such a little dog(About 1 foot tall)can have such a big bark, and strong bite.Albert is a dog that demands many nickname's, here is a list of them

FEE for me

From the time I was two months old until I was four, I lived and my parents worked at FEE (the Foundation for Economic Education).

Back when I lived there the most advanced piece of technology was a Windows 99 system. But I visited FEE today and they now have Windows Vista, a Mac Book Air and a plasma tv. This made me think how technology in such a short period of time has advanced so far. I think technology changing quickly is a really good thing. If you think about it, before the Industrial Revolution we didn't have electric light bulbs at all, all light came from candles, oil lamps, and the sun. We didn't have cars or a lot of other items we consider necessities today. And then during the Industrial Revolution (the modern renaissance) in America and other countries a lot of innovative people started inventing things are pretty quickly; we started getting inventions at a marvelous rate. First, we had steam power that could run trains (iron horses), then we had the telegraph, then the phonograph, photography, electric light bulbs, the list goes on and on. Most notably we also got cars and planes. Even though people don't think about it today in a way we are still in an invention revolution.

Last year I got a Wii for my 10'th birthday. The game that came with the Wii was Wii Sports, yes even though I hurt my ankle once it is still an amazing game. The sensitivity is amazing (not to mention the FUN!!!!!) And now with Nintendo's new release of Wii Fit you get fit and have fun at the same time. One of the Wii's most amazing features is the Wii remote. And now I have the daily question

Stupid statutes

A stupid statute is not a stupid law, in my opinion laws are never stupid , they are rules that are just known. But a statute is a "rule" disguised as a law. Statutes can be good but are often stupid

Last night I explained to my mom that you can make playlists directly on an iPod, and that got me thinking "how could some people not realize how great the market is?" EX: My dad was explaining how he once knew a girl who said "I don't like the Beatles." In response my dad asked "why not?"and the lady answered "they're people pleasers."

You and I alike might ask "why not like a company that pleases people?"

Science

You may have noticed that I posted a periodic table on the site. I love science. In my view, it is very interesting because of the fact that it is the clear truth, proven by fact. My science teachers have definitely inspired me a lot. What first got me interested was astronomy in pre-K. And that is how I got to love science.

Life's Joys

Life is full of joys -- of sorrows, too, of course. But the joys are far greater and, for most of us (including me) more numerous than the sorrows.

My greatest joy is watching my son -- and, now, also my co-blogger, Thomas Macaulay Boudreaux -- grow into manhood. He is still only eleven years old, yet he is thoughtful (even sometimes philosophical), caring, empathetic, and fun. And with this blog, Thomas and I will have fun together - and, hopefully, also offer some insights and fun (!) to our readers.

Thomas loves Star Trek, his dogs Albert and Molly, his friends Paddy, Andrew, Charlie, Aaron, Rusty, Liam, Kit, and Jaycee. He also loves science (especially about space) and watching Dirty Jobs, Myth Busters, and Monty Python. And he's thrilled to be learning to fence.

The world Thomas will grow up in will very likely be, if imperfect, full of wonders and the potential for happiness for him. He is my greatest achievement -- and together he and I hope to share a small part of our wonderful, happy, science-and-laugh-filled world with you.
