Stupid statutes

A stupid statute is not a stupid law, in my opinion laws are never stupid , they are rules that are just known. But a statute is a "rule" disguised as a law. Statutes can be good but are often stupid

Here's one site with stupid statutes.
And another.

And here are a few examples

EX: 1. It is illegal to push a live moose out of a moving airplane.

EX: 2. If an elephant is left tied to a parking meter, the parking fee has to be paid just as it would for a vehicle.

EX: 3. Bathing is prohibited during the winter.

  1. 1) No comment.
    2) What if the elephant is tied to the parking meter and rips it out from the ground?
    3) If they didn't ban it people might freeze and then sue the city. (Who owns the lake in question, presumably.)
